However, this is a great example which will also work around the world. Give yourself a treat and experience. Enjoing the time together is many occasions better than dispensable stuff.

Thinking about easy payment system. Convenient for you and your customers? Sell them climbing rights by adding time and value to the key ring tag. 


One of our new feature is that you can have ClimbStation with a smart card / tag reader. Edit the tag fast and easily with the ClimbStation display without the need of separate tag chargers or internet connection.

How it works:
  1. Give your customer for example 30 min right to use the equipment with the price you like. Let say you sell it for 10 €
  2. Decide how many minutes each session is and therefore the system reduces time from the tag. In case you set it to 3 min, your customer will enjoy 10 times climbing of 3 min each or you may set to 15 minutes if 2 times for 15 minutes is better.
  3. Do the calculation and settings flexible as you want. Either way, sell couple of climbing rights a day, and product investment is worth it.

Fear of failure and falling are the real risks in climbing. Mentally it can be a very big obstacle to climb, continue further or even try climbing. You can build your confidence with mental training tips and other practicing materials. 
I think for beginners and also pros its always a good idea to go for bouldering and a of course use a ClimbStation to build your confidence, endurance, skills and technique before reaching for real heights.

Sport Chek store in West Edmonton Mall attracts customers in a new active and interactive ways. . I think there are a lot to learn from them. Congratulations to Sport Chek for their new location.

Kyle Murray, associate professor of marketing and the director of the School of Retailing at the University of Alberta, said Sport Chek and Atmosphere are looking for ways to bring customers into the store with activity zones.
“Stores like the Apple Store and the Disney Store have demonstrated that if you create a space that’s really engaging, it actually has a major impact on sales per square foot,” Murray said. “A lot of retailers are moving toward making that in-store environment so engaging that people want to spend time in the store, so you’re not just going to buy and research these things online. You’re going to go try out your climbing shoes on the wall and check out the treadmill in person or swing a bat or shoot a hockey puck.

“It’s part of giving people a reason to come into the store as more and more people are seeing online shopping as a viable alternative.”
